Call for Papers (Download )

SCC is a biannual conference and organized by the Information Technology Society (ITG) of the Association for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies (VDE). The conference aims at bridging the gap between theory and applications as well as different communities working on communications.

The 15th SCC will take place in Bremen, Germany, from March 15th to 18th, 2027.

We encourage contributions from both academia and industry presenting original work in various fields of communications like:

  • wireless communications (cellular, satellite, vehicular)
  • optical communications
  • sensor networks, Internet-of-Things (IoT) communications
  • industrial radio, low-latency & ultra-reliable communications
  • massive communications
  • cloud and fog-based RANs
  • distributed (storage) systems
  • communications and control

Topics of interest include but are not limited to

  • information and coding theory
  • source and channel coding, semantic communications
  • ommunication theory, detection, and estimation
  • cryptography, privacy, and security
  • cooperative communications and network coding
  • machine learning and artificial intelligence for communications
  • energy efficient and sustainable communications
  • resource management and interference handling
  • localization and navigation, integrated sensing and communications
  • smart antennas and intelligent reflecting surfaces in communications
  • quantum information processing and quantum communications
  • molecular communications and biology-inspired data storage

Important Dates

  • Paper submission deadline: October 16th, 2026>
  • Notification of paper acceptance: January 8th, 2027
  • Final manuscript and author registration: February 5th, 2027

Paper Submission

The workshop both compromises oral and poster presentations. All papers are peer-reviewed and the proceedings will be submitted to IEEE Xplore subject to meeting IEEE Xplore’s scope and quality requirements. Camera-ready versions of full-length papers can be up to 6 pages long.

Prospective authors are invited to submit full-length, six-page papers, including figures and references, in English and A4 paper format for peer review.

Submission guidelines

Prospective authors are invited to submit high-quality original technical papers (max 6 pages, 10-point font size) for presentation at the conference and publication. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the SCC 2027 Proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore subject to meeting IEEE Xplore’s scope and quality requirements.

We reserve the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (including its removal from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the conference.

Papers are reviewed on the basis that they do not contain plagiarized material and have not been submitted to any other conference at the same time (double submission). These matters are taken very seriously and we will take action against any author who engages in either practice. Follow these links to learn more:

To be published in the SCC 2027 proceedings and to be eligible for publication in IEEE Xplore subject to meeting IEEE Xplore’s scope and quality requirements, an author of an accepted paper is required to register for the conference at the full rate and the paper must be presented by an author of that paper at the conference. Exceptions may be granted by the General Chairs prior to the event.

All papers should be submitted using the standard IEEE conference templates. The page length for regular paper submissions is six (6) printed pages in 10 point font and papers must be written in English. It is the authors’ responsibility to ensure that the author list, the paper title, and the abstract of the submitted pdf file matches the information entered on the submission system registration page exactly. Please be aware that the author list cannot be changed in the final manuscript.
